Grenada vs Other Caribbean Citizenship Programmes in 2026: St Kitts, St Lucia, Dominica and Antigua

Five Eastern Caribbean countries sell citizenship by investment, and since the regional reform their prices are close. So the decision is rarely about $15,000. It is about what you need the passport for. Here is how I compare Grenada with its neighbours for clients, as of October 2026.
The numbers side by side
| Grenada | St Kitts and Nevis | St Lucia | Dominica | Antigua and Barbuda | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fund, single applicant | $235,000 | $250,000 | $240,000 | $200,000 | $230,000 |
| Real estate, minimum | $270,000 | $325,000 | $300,000 | $200,000 | $300,000 |
| E-2 treaty with the US | Yes | No | No | No | No |
Grenada figures are from the IMA fee chart. The figures for the other four countries are the single-applicant minimums BRIDGES publishes in its 2026 comparisons; government fees, due diligence and family surcharges are added on top in every country. BRIDGES gives about 3 to 6 months from start to passport for Grenada, and the IMA itself promises a decision within 60 business days of submission.
Where Grenada wins
The E-2 treaty. Grenada is the only one of the five with an E-2 investor treaty with the United States. Since US Public Law 117-263 of December 2022, a citizen by investment needs three years of continuous domicile in Grenada before applying, so I treat E-2 as a medium-term plan, not an instant benefit. Even so, for entrepreneurs with US plans there is no Caribbean alternative.
The family-of-four price. The $235,000 contribution covers the main applicant and up to three dependants. So for a couple with two children, the gap with a neighbour can look quite different from the single-applicant numbers.
Siblings and young parents. Single siblings aged 18 and over can be included for $75,000 each, and parents and grandparents aged 55 and under can be included with a separate charge. BRIDGES describes sibling rules in St Kitts and Antigua as limited by comparison.
China. BRIDGES lists visa-free entry to China for Grenadian citizens for up to 30 days, which is important to many of my clients who trade there.
Where a neighbour may suit you better
Dominica has the lowest entry price, at $200,000 by the BRIDGES figures. If the budget is tight and you do not need E-2 or siblings, it is a serious option.
St Kitts and Nevis has the oldest programme in the world, running since 1984, and BRIDGES notes its strong reputation with banks. It is more expensive, but some clients value that history.
Antigua and Barbuda has a low fund minimum and generous rules for parents. It suits families focused on parents rather than siblings.
St Lucia sits close to Grenada on price, at $240,000 by the BRIDGES figures, and is worth comparing if you do not need E-2.

What all five share
All five give visa-free access to the Schengen area and the United Kingdom, with an ETA for the UK. All five follow the regional agreement on common standards, which includes a residence requirement for new citizens. IMA Circular No. 2 of 2026 says Grenada will not apply it until the regional regulator is operational and a start date is announced. And all five received the European Commission letter of 25 June 2026 asking them to wind down by 1 June 2028. None of the five is safer than the others on that point.
My honest summary
I recommend Grenada to families of three or four, to anyone who wants to include an adult sibling or a parent aged 55 or under, and to entrepreneurs with a real US business plan. I would look elsewhere if your only goal is the lowest price for one person or if you need the passport within weeks. BRIDGES has a longer analysis of why Grenada differs from other Caribbean programmes. For the details behind this comparison, see the cost guide, the family guide and the passport and E-2 guide.

Questions and answers
Which Caribbean citizenship is the cheapest in 2026?
By the minimums BRIDGES publishes, Dominica is the lowest at $200,000 for a single applicant, then Antigua and Barbuda at $230,000, Grenada at $235,000, St Lucia at $240,000 and St Kitts and Nevis at $250,000. For families the picture changes, because Grenada keeps the same contribution for up to four people.
Is Grenada the only Caribbean programme with the E-2 visa?
Yes. Of the five Eastern Caribbean citizenship by investment countries, only Grenada has an E-2 investor treaty with the United States. Since December 2022 new citizens by investment need 3 years of continuous domicile in Grenada before applying.
Which programme is best for siblings?
Grenada. It allows single brothers and sisters aged 18 and over without children, for an extra $75,000 each. BRIDGES describes sibling rules in St Kitts and Antigua as limited, so check the current rules if you compare other programmes.
Are all five programmes affected by the EU deadline?
Yes. On 25 June 2026 the European Commission asked all five states to wind down their programmes by 1 June 2028. The visa waiver applies to all of them as of October 2026.
